Text Formatting Guide
Learn how to use variables and markdown in Xponent to customize your announcement and retention messages.
Dynamic Variables
You can use the following variables in your custom messages:
{user} — Mentions the user (e.g. @Alice)
{server} — The name of your server
{level} — The user's current level (Available in Level-up & Milestone messages)
{xp} — The user's total XP (Available in Level-up messages)
Discord Markdown
Standard Discord formatting works perfectly in all text fields:
**bold** for **bold text**
*italics* for *italic text*
__underline__ for __underlined text__
~~strikethrough~~ for ~~strikethrough text~~
[Link Text](https://example.com) for masked links (in embeds only)
Embed Support
If you configure an announcement to use an Embed instead of raw text, your variables and markdown will work in both the Embed Title and Embed Description.
